Dino Jag in Melbourne with 6hr Sundae

Thursday, August 12th, 2004

These guys are great! I’ve been listening to there demos now for a few weeks in preparation for our first production meeting, & I’ve got to say I’m becoming a big fan…

The last couple of days together in Melbourne have really cemented my excitement about the songs. The band has some very cool songs, I’m really looking forward to working with the guys on their material.

The majority of the band members have been performing together for about 12 years now, & that bond really shines through in their music. There are some unique voices in the band too, & when they lock into some vocal harmony it’s a magical sound. Add to that, the fact that most of the guys play multiple instruments (which include some very exotic traditional eastern instruments) gives 6hr Sundae a real edge.

Aside from the recent material that the guys have written, we also spent a bit of time going deep into the archives in search of some of their earlier demos… & we unearthed some forgotten (but very cool) toons which I would love to get the guys to record for release.

All in all it was a great trip… & they’re a cool bunch. Keep an ear out for 6hr Sundae.
