Friday, September 30th, 2005

It’s official, “L2EZ” will now be the identity for hip-hop performers Mitchell Reardon, Steven Goodchild & brothers Lewis & Oliver Petty

Brought together as participants of the TAFE Gawler “Learn 2 Earn” program, the members of L2EZ have been busy recording there first hip-hop track “Sampson’s Addiction” with writer/producer & recording artist Dino Jag.

“We’ve been having a lot of fun on this track,” says Dino. “The guys have come up with some quirky lyrics & have done a great job on laying down the rap. We’ve also got some cool beat-boxing onto the track from Oliver Petty. I think people are really gonna dig it. I’ve just about finished working on the music & am about to move into production mode… I’ll keep you posted!”

Pre-Production Begins on Hip-Hop Track with TAFE Students

Friday, September 16th, 2005

Today a select group of students participating in the TAFE Gawler “Learn 2 Earn” program got there first taste of recording with writer/producer & recording artist Dino Jag

The innovative program is using the recording, manufacturing & marketing of a song as the vehicle for students to learn & apply a broad range of real-life work related skills. “It’s not always easy for young people to take that first step into the work force,” says course facilitator (& singer/songwriter) Dani Vadoulis. “Getting them motivated can be half the battle, so we decided to look at how we could apply some basic work skills to an area that they had a strong interest in hip-hop music.

“There’s quite a strong hip-hop culture that exists in & around Gawler, & this is well represented amongst the students participating in the program. One of the students, Oliver Petty, is into beat-boxing & writes lyrics. It seemed like a good idea to get him together with a few of the other students to see if they could write some lyrics together for a hip-hop song to record.

Dino Jag will be working on the music & will produce the song. Meanwhile, other students will research the costs & logistics of manufacturing & distributing CDs, & will look into promotional & marketing strategies that could be employed for the release of the song.

“All in all, there’s a healthy mix of tasks & skills that are being learnt & used during the project which will also directly apply to other work environments.” Students performing on the recording will be Mitchell Reardon, Steven Goodchild & brothers Lewis & Oliver Petty.
