Today the winners of the prestigious US-based 2016 Unsigned Only Music Competition were announced and Dino Jag couldn’t be more thrilled to be amongst the select few around the world to be honored at this year’s international songwriting awards for his song “Two Young Hearts.” And this news comes just one week after the release of the song as his first single off the forthcoming “Breakthrough” EP, the timing couldn’t be better for Dino to receive this international songwriting award. Selected from over 6,000 entries, the winners represent some of the best unsigned artists worldwide in contemporary music.
“This is fantastic news!” says Dino Jag. “I’m actually in the midst of final touches on the music video for “Two Young Hearts” which is going to be released next week so the timing of this award is pretty amazing. Hopefully it will also help bring some international attention to not only this song but also to the other songs that I’m about to release my “Breakthrough” EP which I consider to be my most significant release to date.
To be honest, I completely forgot I’d entered the song in that competition. I started to see some social media posts congratulating me about the award before I was even aware what was going on. Things have been so crazy lately that I hadn’t checked my backlog of emails to discover the official announcement which notified me that “Two Young Hearts” had taken out 2nd place in the Adult Contemporary (AC) category and also received honors in the Adult Album Alternative (AAA) category.”
Judges include high-profile recording artists such as Aimee Mann, The Struts, Colt Ford, The Killers, Frank Foster, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Lucero and many more. Also on the judging panel were music journalists from Rolling Stone, Guitar Player, Paste Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, LA Weekly, Yahoo Music, The Boston Herald, and more.
Two young Hearts was one of the six songs Dino Jag recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound studios in Hollywood with Grammy Award Winning producer Jeff Bova which will be included on his forthcoming “Breakthrough” EP scheduled for release in November 2016.
